Prosenjit Chatterjee starrer Daktar Kaku to hit theatres this September

Veteran Tollywood actor Prosenjit Chatterjee is set to return to the silver screen in the long-awaited film “Daktar Kaku,” which is scheduled for release this September. The project, directed by Pavel and produced by Ena Saha, wrapped filming nearly two years ago but faced delays that kept it from theaters until now.
The film features Chatterjee in a departure from his typical heroic roles, portraying a dedicated, old-school physician named Dilip Saha. The character is depicted as a man of modest appearance—wearing glasses and simple clothing—who prioritizes his Hippocratic oath above all else. In the narrative, he is regarded as a saint-like figure by his community, often neglecting his own physical needs to care for his patients.
Producer Ena Saha, who also appears in a significant supporting role as a woman from a non-Bengali family, expressed relief regarding the film’s delayed premiere. This production marks her return to the big screen after a lengthy hiatus following her previous project, “Chine Badam.”
The film’s central plot revolves around the relationship between the titular character and his two sons, played by Riddhi Sen, known as Pushkin, and director Pavel himself, known as Pocha. The narrative promises a multifaceted look at the characters, with Riddhi Sen appearing in two distinct looks throughout the film. The supporting cast includes actors Rajatava Dutta and Tulika Basu.
Production for “Daktar Kaku” took place across various locations in Kolkata, with a two-day schedule completed in Purulia. The film features a musical score composed by Ranojoy Bhattacharjee, Amit Ishan, Arnab Datta, and Souptik Sayantan.
