More than 22,000 fans gathered at London’s Hyde Park on Friday to set a new Guinness World Record for the largest assembly of people wearing bald caps. Clad in white shirts, black ties, and aviator sunglasses to mimic the signature look of rapper Pitbull, 22,141 participants braved 30-degree Celsius heat to participate in the spectacle during the BST Festival.

The rapper, whose real name is Armando Christian Pérez, was visibly moved as he accepted the official certificate. Acknowledging his heritage, the Cuban-American artist remarked that he was at a loss for words, marveling at how a first-generation Cuban could orchestrate such a feat. Despite being naturally bald, Pitbull donned a prosthetic cap to formally join his fans in the record-breaking attempt.

Ensuring the accuracy of the record required a massive logistical effort. According to official Guinness World Records adjudicator Will Munford, a team of 400 volunteers conducted manual headcounts at entry points, while 42 dedicated counters reviewed drone footage to confirm the final tally.

The event was rooted in an unlikely digital campaign that began with podcast host Jack Remington. After seeing the concert announcement last year, Remington posted a viral TikTok video suggesting that the festival’s capacity could be used to break a world record. The idea gained traction through collaborations with BBC Radio 1 and Guinness World Records, eventually reaching Pitbull, who enthusiastically agreed to the challenge.
