Directors Compare Salman Khan to Will Smith Ahead of 7 Dogs Release

The highly anticipated international action-thriller “7 Dogs” is set to premiere in theaters this Friday, August 21, featuring a powerhouse cast including Bollywood icon Salman Khan, veteran actor Sanjay Dutt, and Italian actress Monica Bellucci.
Directed by the Moroccan-Belgian duo Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, the film has already garnered significant attention for its high-budget production. Filmed largely in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the movie boasts a budget of approximately $40 million, marking it as one of the most expensive cinematic projects in the Arab region. The production team placed a heavy emphasis on elaborate stunts, fight sequences, and pyrotechnics, including an explosion that has been officially recognized by the Guinness World Records as the largest in film history.
In a recent interview discussing their experience on set, the directors offered high praise for Salman Khan’s professional demeanor and star power. Director Adil El Arbi likened Khan’s presence to that of Hollywood star Will Smith, noting that the actor possesses a natural ability to command the screen. According to the director, a distinct kind of “magic” occurs whenever the camera focuses on Khan. He further remarked that working with the Bollywood star felt akin to receiving an intensive masterclass in filmmaking, as Khan intuitively grasps the nuances of a scene and consistently enhances it with his own creative additions.
Co-director Bilall Fallah echoed these sentiments, highlighting Khan’s spontaneous contributions to the script. Fallah noted that the actor frequently introduced improvised dialogue during filming that proved highly effective during the editing process. He emphasized that Khan possesses a rare talent for elevating even the most minor moments, transforming them into memorable highlights for the audience.
