Four Killed and Four Injured in Collision Between Bus and Autorickshaw in Jamalpur

Four people were killed and four others injured on Monday night following a collision between a bus and a battery-operated auto-rickshaw on the Jamalpur-Mymensingh highway.
The accident occurred at approximately 8:00 p.m. in the Laharikanda area of Jamalpur Sadar Upazila. According to local police and witnesses, the Rajib Paribahan bus was traveling from the Jamalpur municipal area toward Dhaka when it collided with the incoming auto-rickshaw. The bus driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to overturn and crush the auto-rickshaw.
The deceased have been identified as 60-year-old Jalal Uddin, son of the late Yunus Ali of Baitkamari; 65-year-old Mokbul Hossain, son of the late Atahar Ali of Tulsipur; 43-year-old Rubel Miah, a bus assistant from Bajrapur; and 30-year-old Saddam Hossain of Baitkamari. The identities of the four injured individuals were not immediately available.
Fire service personnel arrived at the scene shortly after the crash and recovered the four bodies from beneath the overturned bus. The victims were subsequently transported to the Jamalpur General Hospital morgue.
The wreckage of the bus obstructed the highway, bringing traffic to a complete standstill and creating long queues of vehicles on both sides of the road. Normal traffic flow was restored around 10:00 p.m. after the bus was cleared from the thoroughfare.
Jamalpur Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Nazmus Sakib confirmed the fatalities and injuries. Authorities stated that legal action will be initiated upon receipt of a formal complaint.
