Glacial Lake Overflow Triggers Fresh Flood Fears Near Nepal-China Border
A glacial lake outburst triggered by a landslide on the Nepal-China border has caused water to overflow, sparking widespread panic in the region. The incident has placed areas already devastated by catastrophic flooding two days ago under renewed threat, forcing authorities to temporarily suspend ongoing rescue operations.
In a dramatic police operation, an alleged terrorist identified as Mobarak Hossain, also known as “Gola Kata Mobarak,” was apprehended after a gunfight. The suspect had been hiding above the false ceiling of a room when police attempted to enter. Mobarak opened fire, discharging six rounds, which prompted officers to return fire. The standoff concluded after police successfully pressured the suspect to surrender.
Authorities are investigating a viral incident involving two unidentified youths who were seen brandishing long firearms in public spaces. Dressed in traditional black kurta-pajamas and prayer caps, the individuals were filmed pointing large black guns at pedestrians and bystanders in various locations, including a public park, a busy street, and near shop fronts.
