No Bangladeshi Citizens Reported Casualties in Nepal-Tibet Border Disaster

No Bangladeshi citizens have been reported dead or injured following a catastrophic natural disaster along the Nepal-Tibet border, officials said Thursday. Multiple diplomats stationed at the Bangladesh Embassy in Kathmandu confirmed the information to news outlets.
Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman spoke by telephone with his Nepalese counterpart, Shishir Khanal, on Thursday morning to request the cooperation of the Nepalese government in notifying Bangladesh immediately should any incidents involving Bangladeshi nationals occur. The Bangladesh Embassy remains engaged in monitoring the evolving situation across the region.
The embassy stated that it is maintaining constant communication with Nepalese authorities to coordinate potential aid and address bilateral concerns. Earlier on Wednesday, some Bangladeshi citizens were briefly stranded after the Kathmandu-Pokhara highway was closed due to the disaster, but they reached their destinations safely once road connectivity was restored.
According to reports from the BBC, the death toll from the disaster has reached 177. Reuters reports that at least 1,500 people remain missing, including more than 800 foreign tourists.
