Fire breaks out at jute warehouse in Gazipur Konabari area

A massive fire broke out at a jute warehouse in the Deuliabari area of Konabari, located within the Gazipur metropolitan region, early Thursday morning. Fire service officials were alerted to the blaze at approximately 5:30 a.m.

Local residents and business owners reported first spotting the flames at the warehouse before the fire spread rapidly to surrounding areas. Initial attempts by locals to contain the blaze were unsuccessful, prompting them to notify the fire department.

Five firefighting units are currently on the scene working to bring the situation under control. This includes three units from the Konabari Fire Station and two additional units deployed from the Sarabo Fire Station.

Warehouse Inspector Md. Saiful Islam of the Konabari Fire Service confirmed that operations to extinguish the fire were still underway as of 9:00 a.m. Authorities have not yet determined the origin of the blaze, and the investigation remains ongoing. No casualties have been reported at this time.
