Bangladesh Police Reassigns 26 Senior Officers in Major Administrative Reshuffle

Bangladesh police authorities have reassigned 26 senior officers in a single day, continuing a series of administrative reshuffles across the country. The latest move, confirmed on Tuesday through multiple notifications from Police Headquarters and the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) headquarters, follows the transfer of 17 other senior officials announced earlier the same day by the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The latest reshuffle involves nine officers, including two deputy commissioners from the Dhaka Metropolitan Police, and three additional deputy commissioners stationed in Rajshahi, Barishal, and Chattogram. Additionally, four officers holding the rank of assistant superintendent of police have been reassigned.
Regarding the Dhaka Metropolitan Police appointments, Touhidul Arif has been transferred to the Police Order Management (POM) South Division, while Akter Hossain has been moved to the Media and Public Relations Division.
Regional reassignments include Mohammd Rakibul Hasan of the Rajshahi Metropolitan Police to Pabna, Abdullah Mohammad Sheikh Sadi of the Chattogram Metropolitan Police to the Cumilla Sadar Circle, and Sabiha Mehbuba of the Barishal Metropolitan Police to the Bagerhat Sadar Circle.
Further transfers involve assistant superintendents and assistant commissioners: Jahirul Islam, formerly of the Rangamati Police Special Training School, has been assigned to the Ullapara Circle in Sirajganj, while Highway Police official Anwar Hossain Saidi has been moved to the Lama Circle in Bandarban. Additionally, Mohammad Arif Iqbal and Abdur Rahim, both previously of the Chattogram Metropolitan Police, have been transferred to the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) and the Bandarban Special Action Force (SAF), respectively.
