Man found dead with throat slit in Rangpur following recent quadruple homicide

Police in Rangpur have recovered the throat-slit body of a 35-year-old man from a deserted road in the Char Chatura village area of Kaunia Upazila, marking the second major violent incident in the district in recent days.
The victim, identified as Abu Bakkar Siddique, was the son of Raja Mia from the Pollimari Haque Bazar area of Haragach Union. Authorities discovered his remains late Sunday night, around 10:30 p.m., following reports that he had been abandoned by unidentified assailants.
Preliminary investigations suggest that Siddique left his residence on Sunday evening to visit Milan Bazar, located in Sadar Upazila of Lalmonirhat. The market is situated near the border of the Char Chatura village in Kaunia. Family members received notification around 9:00 p.m. that Siddique had been fatally attacked with sharp weapons, which were used to lacerate his neck and face before his body was discarded on the roadside.
Haragach Police Station Officer-in-Charge Ashok Chauhan confirmed the recovery of the body. He stated that the motive behind the killing remains unknown and that investigators have launched a formal inquiry to identify and apprehend those responsible for the crime.
This discovery follows a separate incident in Rangpur involving the killing of four members of the same family, heightening concerns regarding security in the region.
