Retired schoolteacher and family of four found murdered in Rangpur home

Police recovered the bodies of four members of a family, including a retired teacher, from their three-story residence in the Kamal Kachna Mashuapara area of Rangpur city on Saturday night. Authorities discovered the victims at approximately 8:30 p.m. following reports from local residents.
The deceased have been identified as Ganapati Chakraborty, a retired teacher from Rangpur Zila School, his wife, and their two children. Preliminary investigations by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) suggest that the victims were strangled with rope or fabric approximately three to four days prior to the discovery.
Investigators noted signs of a robbery at the scene, reporting that the property’s electrical supply had been disconnected and areas typically used for storing valuables were found broken. Forensic teams and law enforcement officials remain on-site to gather further evidence as the investigation into the homicides continues.
