A 27-year-old man and his four-year-old son sustained critical injuries on Friday evening after the father jumped in front of a moving train in Narsingdi, allegedly due to an ongoing domestic dispute.

The incident occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m. near the Birpur Government Primary School, located close to the Arshinagar railway crossing. Witnesses reported that as the Noakhali-bound Upakul Express train departed from the Narsingdi railway station and began to gain speed near the primary school, Al-Amin jumped onto the tracks while holding the child. The impact knocked both victims between the rails, allowing the train to pass over them. Miraculously, both survived the incident, though they suffered severe injuries to their heads and various parts of their bodies.

Local residents rushed the pair to the emergency department of Narsingdi Sadar Hospital. Following initial treatment, attending physician Monir Hossain noted that their conditions had deteriorated, prompting medical staff to recommend an immediate transfer to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for advanced trauma care.
