Attackers target home of former Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan in Magura

A group of unidentified assailants targeted the Magura residence of former national cricket team captain and ex-member of parliament Shakib Al Hasan on Wednesday night. The attack, which occurred at approximately 8:45 p.m. in the town’s Keshab Mor area, saw vandals throwing bricks at the property, shattering several glass windows.
According to local authorities, the attackers attempted to set fire to the home’s iron gate by pouring gasoline on the structure. Despite the intensity of the incident, officials confirmed that no injuries were reported among those inside the residence.
Magura Sadar Police Station officer-in-charge Abdullah Al Mamun stated that while initial investigations were conducted at the scene, there was no immediate evidence to suggest the use of petrol bombs. Police have launched a formal investigation into the attack and are working to identify the perpetrators behind the violence.
