The facility discovered the presence of the respiratory virus during routine health screenings of children admitted for measles treatment.

Physicians are urging health authorities to integrate adenovirus monitoring into the broader analysis of the current measles outbreak. They emphasize that the presence of the secondary virus significantly complicates the clinical trajectory of measles cases, necessitating a more nuanced approach to patient care and management.

While the hospital has formally notified the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) regarding these findings, there has been no official response or policy adjustment from the DGHS or the Ministry of Health to date.
