Tollywood actress Mimi Chakraborty is facing two separate lawsuits filed in a Bongaon court, centering on allegations of defamation and false accusations. The complainant, Tanay Shastri, an organizer of a youth club event, has sought a total of 20 lakh taka in damages.

The legal dispute stems from an annual cultural program held by the Nayagopalganj Yuvak Sangha in Bongaon, where Chakraborty appeared as a guest. The event later devolved into a series of conflicting claims. Following the program, Chakraborty publicly alleged on social media that she had been harassed by organizers. She subsequently filed a formal complaint at the Bongaon police station, leading to Shastri’s arrest and his eventual release on bail. Chakraborty also provided a confidential statement regarding the incident to a Bongaon judicial magistrate.

Members of the club have categorically dismissed the actress’s allegations, describing them as entirely baseless. According to their account, the dispute arose when Chakraborty arrived at the venue an hour behind schedule. Organizers claim that because the event’s permitted duration had already expired, they requested she vacate the stage, which triggered the ensuing confrontation.

In response to the actress’s actions, Shastri has taken the matter to the Bongaon court, represented by advocate Tarunjyoti Tiwari. The lawsuits allege that Chakraborty engaged in defamation and spread malicious falsehoods, while also violating the terms of their agreement. Furthermore, the petition demands the recovery of 2.65 lakh taka, which Shastri claims was paid to the actress as an advance fee for her appearance.
