Bloody body of housewife recovered in Manikganj, nephew arrested

The police recovered the bloody body of a housewife named Sathi Akter (28) in Katigram area of Manikganj Sadar Upazila. This murder happened last Sunday night. A young man named Ripon Mia (20) has been arrested for his involvement in the incident.
Sathi Akhter is the wife of Shukur Ali, a resident of Katigram area. The arrested Ripon is the nephew of the deceased partner and the son of Ataur Rahman of the same area.
According to the police and local sources, brother Ripon had an argument with his partner Akhtar at around 8:30 yesterday night due to a family dispute. At one point, Ripon hit his partner in the neck with a sharp weapon. He died on the spot. On receiving the information, the police recovered the bloody body from a room in the house of the partner at around 11 pm. At that time, Ripon was arrested from inside that room.
Officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station Ikram Hossain said that the body of the deceased woman was sent to Manikganj Medical College morgue for post-mortem. A young man has been arrested for his involvement in the murder. The reason for the murder is not yet known.
