Mymensingh North District JCD General Secretary Dies

A key figure in the student wing of Bangladesh’s opposition party has died. A K M Suja Uddin, 36, the general secretary of Mymensingh North District Chhatra Dal, passed away Thursday morning at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, where he had been receiving treatment.
Uddin, a resident of Amuakanda village in Phulpur upazila, reportedly experienced severe chest pain early Wednesday. He was rushed to the hospital by family members and colleagues. His death occurred while undergoing medical care at the facility.
His passing was marked by expressions of grief from the national leadership of Chhatra Dal, the student affiliate of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party. The president of the central Chhatra Dal, Md. Rakibul Islam, posted a message of condolence on his Facebook page.
Uddin had been appointed to the general secretary position of the Mymensingh North District Chhatra Dal committee on May 2nd. Nuruzaaman Sohel, the president of the district chapter, described Uddin as a “struggling and responsible organizer” who worked tirelessly to strengthen the party amidst political challenges, calling his death an “irreparable loss” to Chhatra Dal.
