Allegations of vandalism in the office of the principal of Noakhali Government College were made against Chhatra Dal leaders and workers during the graduation examination under the National University. During this time, the teachers were insulted, humiliated and physically assaulted. This incident happened around 2:30 on Wednesday.
The teacher’s council complained that some teachers along with the principal were eating lunch in a room of the principal’s office at the time of the vandalism. At that time, a group of leaders and activists including Rashedul Islam, president of the college student body, entered the office and insulted them and forced them to get up from the dining table. At this time, Munshadur Rahman, associate professor of Bengal department, was physically assaulted and his shirt button was torn. Anwar Hossain, Associate Professor of Islamic Studies Department, was threatened with death.

In this incident, the emergency meeting of the teachers’ council has announced an indefinite strike from Thursday. However, the ongoing graduation examinations of the National University will remain outside the ambit of the strike. The teachers said that the program will continue until the punishment of those involved in the vandalism and the cancellation of the current committee of the college student body. Human bonding program will also be provided if needed.
The college authorities complained that some leaders and workers of the Chhatra Dal were creating an unstable situation in the college for some days due to non-payment of contributions for various development works and examination fees. This attack happened as a result. However, the allegation of demand for subscription has been denied by Chhatra Dal. They claim that these charges are being brought against the teachers because they are protesting against the irregularities and mismanagement.

There, the vice-president of the College Chhatra Dal, Aktaruzzaman Vishal told Prothom Alo, that no Chhatra Dal leaders and workers are involved in the vandalism incident. Allegations of demand for subscription are also baseless. These complaints are being made to cover up the irregularities of the teachers.

Then the student got angry and vandalized a tub of flowers and a glass. This has nothing to do with Chhatra Dal.
