Prime Minister Tariq Rahman reached Jessore

Prime Minister Tariq Rahman has visited Jessore. He left for Jessore by plane from Dhaka on Monday morning. The plane carrying him landed at Jessore airport around 10:30 am.

From here, the Prime Minister will go to Sharsha Upazila by road. There he will inaugurate the canal re-excavation work of about four and a half kilometers at the Ulasi-Jadunathpur link of the Palla river. After returning from Sharsha, Tariq Rahman will lay the foundation stone of 500-bed hospital at Jessore Medical College and visit the traditional centenary Jessore Institute Public Library.

Apart from this, Prime Minister Tariq Rahman will attend the public meeting at Jessore Eidgah ground at 3:30 pm. He will leave for Dhaka from Jessore Airport at around 6:30 PM.

Meanwhile, the people of Jessore are vocal in various demands around the arrival of Prime Minister Tariq Rahman. The demands include establishment of Jessore City Corporation, establishment of Jessore Agricultural University, opening of full-fledged ICU and Kidney Dialysis Center at Jessore General Hospital, one more inter-city train on Jessore-Narail-Dhaka route from Benapole via Padma Bridge in the morning and two inter-city trains on Jessore-Narail-Dhaka route from Darsana (Gede border), Dhaka-Narail-Jesore-Benapole or Darsana border. Running at least one local train on the route, running double line railway from Darshana to Khulna, establishing Inland Container Terminal (ICT) at any convenient station, adding common coaches in all intercity trains. Apart from this, the Jessore Airport should be upgraded to an international airport, the EPZ should be launched as soon as possible and Jessore should be declared a tourist city.
