Good news from PCB for the cricket lovers of Pakistan

The long wait is coming to an end for the cricket lovers of Pakistan. Although the entire PSL season was held in empty galleries due to the ongoing energy crisis across the country, the government allowed spectators to sit on the field and watch the game in the final match of the 11th edition of the tournament.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi confirmed the matter on social media on Saturday. He said, considering the request of the franchise owners and the interest of the fans, he sought permission from Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif to allow spectators to enter the final. Despite the country’s austerity policy, the Prime Minister, keeping in mind the importance of cricket and the passion of the spectators, allowed spectators to enter the stadium for the final on May 3.

Note that the global energy crisis caused by the situation in the Middle East has also affected Pakistan. As a result, the country imposed restrictions on electricity and transportation, and the venues of the PSL were reduced from six cities to Karachi and Lahore. Spectator entry was closed throughout the tournament.

This year’s PSL has seen great batting performance, many matches have been won by chasing targets of more than 200 runs. Meanwhile, Peshawar Zalmi, Multan Sultans and Islamabad United have confirmed the play-offs. Lahore Qalandars, Hyderabad Kings and Karachi Kings are fighting for the remaining spot. On the other hand, Rawalpindi were knocked out of the tournament.

The final will be held at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on May 3 at the end of the league stage. It is hoped that this time the tournament will get a lively and grand finale with the presence of spectators.
