BCB President Tamim, ICCs Bulbul named

Dhaka – Bangladesh’s national sports council has dissolved the existing Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) executive committee and formed an 11-member interim committee led by Tamim Iqbal, with the mandate to hold elections within three months. The move, enacted on April 7, replaces the board previously led by Aminul Islam Bulbul.

Despite the leadership change at the BCB, the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) website continues to list former president Aminul Islam Bulbul as a board director. Typically, such updates are made after a national board notifies the ICC of a change in leadership.

The ICC’s website maintenance appears inconsistent beyond Bangladesh. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has also not updated its listed leadership. While Mithun Manhas is the current BCCI President, the ICC’s board director list features Debjit Saikia and Roger Binny. Notably, current Chairman Jay Shah, Chief Executive Sanjog Gupta, and Deputy Chairman Imran Khaja are also listed on the ICC site.

Similar discrepancies are observed for other cricket boards. Australia, Sri Lanka, the West Indies, and Zimbabwe each have two representatives listed on the ICC website, with Sri Lanka’s representation still showing Shammi Silva and Bandula Dissanayake, despite the country’s complex internal situation and recent calls for the cricket executive committee to step down due to corruption and mismanagement allegations.
