Child Ramisa was murdered in a neighboring flat in Pallabi, the suspect was arrested from Narayanganj

The main accused Sohail Rana (34) has been arrested by the police in connection with the brutal murder of 7-year-old child Ramisa Akhtar in Pallavi of the capital. Police said that he was arrested from Fatulla in Narayanganj on Tuesday evening.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Mirpur Division of Police Mostak Sarkar told Prothom Alo that the accused has not yet been interrogated in detail. He will be briefed in detail after the interrogation.
Earlier today, around 11:30 am, the police recovered Ramisa’s dismembered body from a three-storey flat of house number 39, road number seven, block B, section number 11, Mirpur. After killing the child, his head was severed. Separate heads are available in toilets. The main part of the child’s body is found under the bed.
According to the police, Sohail Rana started living in that room with his wife two months ago. After the incident, he broke the grill of the toilet and escaped. However, his wife was arrested from that house.
A police officer said, within an hour of the child’s disappearance, his body was recovered from the neighboring flat. The child was killed between 10:30 am and 11:00 am today. The police recovered the child’s body after 11 o’clock after receiving the news on 999.
According to the police and family, Ramisa Akhtar was studying in class two in a local school. His father’s name is Abdul Hannan Mollah. He works in a recruiting agency. Mother’s name is Parveen Akhter. Ramisa is the younger of their two daughters. Eldest daughter Raisa Akhtar studies in Class IX in a local school. The family has been living in the third floor north side flat of House No. 39, Road No. Seven, B Block, Section No. 11, Mirpur, Pallabir for about 17 years. The child’s body was found in a room of a neighboring flat.
Earlier, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Mirpur Division of Police, Mostak Sarkar, visited the scene this afternoon and told reporters that Sohail Rana, a tenant of a room in a neighboring flat, has been identified as the main suspect in the murder of the child. He is a rickshaw mechanic by profession. Some blood-stained evidence was recovered from his room. His wife is being detained and interrogated in this incident.
After noon today, Pallaveer went to the house and saw a crowd of eager people in front of the house. As soon as the crowd pushes into the house, it can be seen that the members of different police units are collecting evidence. A crowd of relatives at Ramisad’s house. Ramisa’s parents sat speechless in a room.
Ramisa’s uncle AKM Nazrul Islam told Prothom Alo that Ramisa was supposed to go to school with her elder sister Raisa around 10:30 am. Ramisa was suddenly nowhere to be found. Her mother Parveen finds a shoe lying on Ramisa’s foot outside the flat door. Then he knocked on the door of the flat next door. The door was not opened from inside. After knocking for a long time, the door was not opened. This raises doubts. Later the matter was reported to the police. The police came and broke the door and entered and found Ramisa’s body.
