The government has elevated three senior bureaucrats serving on contractual appointments to the prestigious rank of Senior Secretary, according to separate notifications issued on Wednesday by the contract and foreign appointment wing of the Ministry of Public Administration.
The officials receiving the upgraded status are Ministry of Public Administration Secretary Md. Kamruzzaman Chowdhury, Secondary and Higher Education Division Secretary Abdul Khaleque, and Local Government Division Secretary Md. Shahidul Hasan. All three officials are currently discharging their official duties as contractual secretaries within their respective ministries and divisions.
According to the official circulars, the elevation in rank is instituted in the public interest and takes effect immediately. The latest administrative decisions underscore the government's ongoing strategic deployment of experienced leadership across critical public service sectors.
