Two dead, one injured in three-motorcycle collision in Bogura

Two young men were killed and four others sustained critical injuries in a collision involving three motorcycles on the Sherpur-Kazipur regional highway in Bogura on Thursday night. The accident occurred around 8:30 p.m. in the Shubhagacha Safaljani area of Sherpur upazila.
The deceased have been identified as 18-year-old Abu Raihan, a student at the Bogura Polytechnic Institute, and 18-year-old Tamim Hossain, an eleventh-grade student at Sherwood International School and College.

Witnesses reported that the highway was relatively clear due to the Eid holiday, prompting the motorcyclists to travel at high speeds. The crash occurred when two motorcycles traveling toward Sherpur from Dhunat collided head-on with a third motorcycle approaching from the opposite direction. The force of the impact left all three vehicles severely damaged and threw the six riders onto the roadway.
Emergency responders transported the victims to the Sherpur Upazila Health Complex, where medical personnel declared Abu Raihan dead upon arrival. The remaining five injured individuals—identified as Rajon, Siyam, Hasan, and Shamir—were referred to the Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital in Bogura for advanced treatment. Tamim Hossain succumbed to his injuries while being transported to the facility.

Sub-Inspector Bikash Chakrabarty of the Sherpur Police Station confirmed that authorities have recovered the wreckage of the three motorcycles and placed them into police custody.
