In Daulatdia of Goaland upazila of Rajbari, two big cutla fish caught in Padma river were sold for about 87 thousand taka. A local businessman bought two fish caught on Saturday morning and sold them to a buyer in Dhaka in the afternoon.

Talking to the local fishermen, Jamal Pramanik, a fisherman of Dhallachar area of ​​Aminpur police station in Pabna, went fishing in the Padma river early this morning. He cast his net in the Kushahata area and floated to the Padma estuary near Daulatdia ferry ghat. At six o’clock in the morning while pulling the net, a large cuttle fish was caught. Later he brought it to Rezaul Islam’s place near Daulatdia Ghat terminal for sale.

At the same time, Babu Sardar, the fisherman of Daulatdia Union Parishad, also cast his net in the Padma early this morning. Around six o’clock in the morning, a big Katala fish was also caught in his net. He brought the fish to the same place for sale.

Artdar Rezaul Islam said, after weighing, it can be seen that the weight of the katla caught by Jamal Pramanik is about 15 kg 500 grams and the weight of the katla of Babu Sardar is about 17 kg. Later, when it was auctioned, Ferighat area fish trader Chandu Molla and his brother Alamgir Molla bought two fish as the highest bidders.

Chandu Molla said, he bought the 25 kg 500 gram Katla at the rate of 2 thousand 100 taka for 53 thousand 500 taka per kg. On the other hand, Katla weighing about 17 kg is bought at the rate of Tk 1,700 per kg at Tk 28,900.

Chandu Molla said, later he contacted a businessman in Gulshan area of ​​Dhaka and sold two fish at a profit of about 100 taka per kg. The big one is sold for 56 thousand taka and the other one for 30 thousand 600 taka. Two fishes were sent to Dhaka around 12 noon.

Earlier on April 20, a Katla weighing about 30 kg was sold for Tk 68,500 and a Rui of 14 kg was sold for Tk 43,500 from the same ghat. The fish are also caught in the nets of the fishermen in the Padma river estuary.
