The mother could not save her child even with her own life

A mother lost her life after being hit by a covered van while trying to save her child who fell from a moving motorcycle in Sitakunda, Chittagong. His 22-month-old daughter also died in the incident. The accident took place at BMA Gate area of ​​Bhatiari Union of Sitakunda Upazila on Dhaka-Chittagong highway at around eight o’clock on Friday night.

Deceased Tarin Akhtar (28) was an office assistant-cum-computer numismatist of the Chittagong Divisional Commissioner’s office. The name of his baby daughter was not immediately known.

The incident was confirmed by Bar Auliya Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) MA Haque and Sitakunda Assistant Commissioner (Land) Abdullah Al Mamun.

Abdullah Al Mamun said that Tareen Akhtar came to Bhatiari on Friday with her husband and 22-month-old child on a motorcycle. The accident happened on the way back home in Chittagong city at night. Her husband was driving the motorcycle. Tareen sat behind with the baby sitting in the middle.

Abdullah Al Mamun said about the local residents, Tareen also fell on the road while trying to save the child when he accidentally fell from the motorcycle. At this time, a covered van from behind hit him. He died on the spot. The seriously injured child was rescued by local people and taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead.

Abdullah Al Mamun also said that Tareen was a very humble and responsible worker. His death is very painful.

OCMA Haque of Bar Aulia Highway Police Station said that the police were sent to the spot after receiving information about the accident. But the details will be known later.
