Seven-year-old girl struck and killed by train in Feni

A seven-year-old girl died Wednesday evening after being struck by a passenger train near her grandparents’ home in the Sharshadi area of Feni. The child, identified as Huzaifa, had been visiting relatives in the village when she wandered onto nearby railway tracks while playing.
Witnesses reported that the incident occurred as the Chittagong-bound Sagarika Express, originating from Chandpur, passed through the area. Alerted by the cries of bystanders, family members rushed the girl to the Feni 250-Bed General Hospital, where attending physicians declared her dead upon arrival. Huzaifa was a resident of Baligaon village, located in the Feni Sadar sub-district.
Feni Railway Police officers arrived at both the scene and the hospital to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death. According to Sub-Inspector Md. Masudur Rahman of the Feni Railway Police, the child had inadvertently strayed onto the tracks, leading to the fatal collision.
Authorities have since released the body to the family without an autopsy, following a formal request from her relatives. A case of unnatural death has been filed at the Laksam Railway Police Station in connection with the tragedy.
