Private car recovered within 12 hours of case in Chittagong, dismissed driver arrested

The Chittagong Metropolitan Police (DB) conducted a raid and recovered a stolen private car within 12 hours of the case. The car was recovered from the parking lot in front of Marine City Medical College Hospital in East Nasirabad area of Bayezid Bostami police station yesterday on Friday. At this time Md. Police also arrested a person named Ibrahim. He once drove that car. The owner of the car fired him from his job, police said.
According to the police, Md. The driver named Ibrahim took the job by showing a fake driving license. After working for about eight months, he lost his job when the fraud was discovered. But while leaving, he left behind a fake car key. Use that key later. The car was stolen from the front of the owner’s house in the early hours of April 16. However, Ibrahim was not saved in the end. He was arrested last Friday within 12 hours of filing the case in Chittagong Metropolitan Detective (DB) police operation. The stolen private car was also recovered.
According to the police, the owner of the car is Masuma Akhtar. The car was parked in front of house number 77 of Panchlaish residential area of Chittagong city. Ibrahim disappeared with the Toyota Premio model car around 6 am on April 16. The next day, on April 17, Masuma filed a case at Panchlaish police station.
The number of the stolen car is CHATT METRO-G-13-3691. Its estimated price is 25 lakhs. The investigation of the case has been handed over to the Metropolitan Detective (North) Division. After that, a team of DB started operations in different areas of the city.
Metropolitan Intelligence Police (North) Deputy Commissioner Md. Habibur Rahman Prang told Prothom Alo that the car was recovered from the parking lot in front of Marine City Medical College Hospital in East Nasirabad area of Bayezid Bostami police station. At that time, Ibrahim was arrested along with the car.
Habibur Rahman said that Ibrahim is a resident of Muradnagar in Comilla but currently lives in Doublemooring area of Chittagong. During preliminary interrogation, he admitted to stealing the car. DB officials say that whether anyone else was involved in the incident is being investigated.
