On the way back from Cox’s Bazar, two mothers of Jhenaidah were killed in an accident, their son was bedridden

Mourning is going on at the house of two youths of Jhenaidah, including a BGB member who was killed in a road accident on the way back after a trip to Cox’s Bazar with friends. BGB constable Naimur Islam alias Jihad’s (21) mother is bedridden due to her son’s grief, father is speechless. A similar situation occurred in the house of another victim, Naeem Mia (21).
Four people were killed in a head-on collision between two passenger buses of Marcha Paribahan in Chunti Four Seasons Restaurant area of Lohagara Upazila on Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar highway last Saturday. Two of them are in Jhenaidah.

Deceased Naimur Islam is the son of Chan Ali of Bazargopalpur village of Jhenaidah Sadar Upazila and Naeem Mia is the son of Anwar Khandkar of Potahati village of Sadar Upazila. The body of BGB member Naimur Islam was handed over to the family of BGB members on Sunday afternoon and the relatives of the other deceased Naeem Mia took the body from Lohagara police station and buried it around 11:30 pm on Sunday.
Talking to the two families, Naimur Islam and Naeem Mia are two close friends. A year ago, Naimur got a job in the BGB. On May 4, he went to visit Cox’s Bazar with a friend as he was at home on vacation. While returning, their bus met with an accident around 10 am last Saturday. A woman died on the spot. Naimur and Naeem died on the way to the hospital.

Amena Khatun, mother of son Naimur Islam, is bedridden due to her son’s grief. He is being treated by a general practitioner. Baba Chan Ali has become speechless. Two sons of farmer Chan Ali and Amena Khatun couple. The elder son migrated to Malaysia seven and a half years ago in search of livelihood. Younger son Naimur Islam passed HSC in 2024. Then he got a job as a soldier in BGB. After getting the job, he came home only twice on leave. After returning home for the second time, he went to visit Cox’s Bazar with his friend. He returned from there as a corpse.
Going to Naimur Islam’s house on Monday afternoon, it was seen that farmer Chan Ali had built a two-room brick house a couple of years ago. Could not plaster yet. Neither of the two sons have married yet. Amena Khatun is lying on a stool in a corner of the floor of the house. Saline is running in his body. Chan Ali is sitting next to him and reminiscing about his son. There are also some other neighbors next door. They are consoling the couple who lost their son.
Lying on the bed, Amena Khatun said, ‘My son went for a walk with his friend with a happy heart, and came back as a dead body. One of the two sons lives abroad. I used to worry my husband and wife by sending my little son to work. But I would be happy to think that both will be established. How can I live with my newborn son in a dark grave.’
Father Chan Ali said, “I am almost sixty years old. I sent my eldest son abroad with difficulty. The younger son was good at studies. Passed IA from Government KC College, Jhenaidah. He stood in line and got the BGB job. But what happened to me today?
Similar mourning is going on at the house of Naeem Mia, who was killed in Potahati village. Mother Rosykha Khatun was fainting again and again because of the grief of losing her only son. Couldn’t speak.
Naeem’s uncle Saiful Islam said that his brother Anwar Khandkar earns his living by running a tea shop. Naeem was his only son. He said, ‘I went to bring the dead body. The body was buried in the family cemetery around 11:30 pm on Sunday. Now I can’t explain anything to my brothers and sisters. In this incident, I filed a case against the killer bus driver and helper in Lohagara police station.
