No ceasefire in Lebanon, attacks will continue: Netanyahu

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has denied reports of any ceasefire in Lebanon. In a message addressed to residents of northern Israel, he stressed that there is currently no ceasefire in effect in Lebanon. 

The message published by the Prime Minister’s Office stated that the attack on Hezbollah will continue with full force and this military operation will not stop until the security of northern Israel is ensured.

Netanyahu reiterated Israel’s core goals. He said their main objective is to disarm Hezbollah and ensure a historic and sustainable peace agreement between Israel and Lebanon.

His tough stance comes at a time when US President Donald Trump claims Netanyahu told him Israel would scale back its attacks on Lebanon during peace talks. Netanyahu’s recent comments directly challenge Trump’s claim and signal a protracted conflict.
