A Katla fish weighing 25 and a half kg was caught in the fishing net in the Padma river of Rajbari. The fish was sold for 48 thousand 500 taka. The fish was brought to Daulatdia Ghat market in Golanda upazila on Thursday morning.

Local fish traders said that Sukant Halder and his team cast their nets in Daulatdia Ferighat area of ​​Padma river on Thursday morning. 5 and 6 while waiting by throwing nets near the ferry wharfs around 6 in the morning, they realized that some big fish had been caught by shaking their nets. Pulling the net and lifting it into the boat, a big cutla fish is seen. The fish is brought to the rezaul mandal area of ​​Daulatdia market for sale. Many eager traders and people flocked to see the big fish. When the fish was auctioned, Chandu Molla, a fish merchant of Ferighat, bought it as the highest bidder at Tk 1,800 per kg.

Chandu Molla, a fish trader in Daulatdia Ferighat area, said that like every day, he goes to the market to buy fish in the morning. Rezaul saw a crowd of people in front of the mosque. He participated in the auction as soon as he saw the preparation of Padma Katla fish for sale there. The weight of the fish is about 25 kg 500 grams. Being the highest bidder, he bought 45 thousand 900 taka at the rate of 1800 taka per kg. He put the fish in the water at Ferry No. 5 of Daulatdia for sale and kept in touch with various known persons.

Chandu Molla said, such a big cutla fish has not been seen before in this season. He thinks it could be the largest catla fish in the Padma river. Later, after communicating on the phone, a businessman from Gulshan, Dhaka, bought the fish for Tk 48,500 with a profit of Tk 100 per kg. The fish was sent to Dhaka around noon.
