Helal Uddin said, he has two daughters and one son. Daughters are married, sons also live separately after marriage. Even at this age, he has to work hard every day to run the family. Small capital business. So if you sit for one day, the family will not survive. There is no cultivation land. All expenses depend on the income from the sale of vegetables.

Helal Uddin was shivering from the cold after being soaked in the rain for a long time. When asked by this reporter, he smiled and said, “Bapu, 3 thousand 200 tehar capital.” How to carry on at home? I will not feed the storm anymore. The family does not want to live in this bazaar day and night.

Many times he earns 500 to 700 taka. He spends 100 to 150 rupees on food throughout the day. Take the remaining money and return home.

Helal Uddin was silent for a while and sighed on the question of how the family runs with that income. Then he said, ‘As God guides! The day goes on eating dail-rice in no mercy. I don’t dare to buy beef except for Eid. I am eating meat in one Eid – then I will eat meat again in the next Eid of sacrifice. But buy fish in the market. We can cook and eat with leftover curry.

Expressing anger and frustration when the subject of the market came up, he said, “All the goods in the market are on fire.” This is not only my situation, every poor person has the same problem.

Helal Uddin, when asked the reason for suffering at this age even though he has a son, said, “Poladar doesn’t last on his own. He also sells boisya fruit in the market. The condition of the market, his own family does not run – what else can we look after? So I will eat myself.

Helal Uddin’s eyes and face were tired, but he did not want to express it. Accepting the hard reality of life, he said, ‘As long as my body is good, I will continue like this. I don’t know what will happen later.
