Dhaka garment workers block Tejgaon road to protest unpaid wages

Hundreds of garment workers from Nasa Garments blocked a key thoroughfare in the Tejgaon industrial area of Dhaka on Tuesday morning, bringing traffic to a standstill as they protested for overdue wages.
The demonstration began around 10:15 a.m. near Love Road, where workers occupied the main road to voice their grievances. According to local police, the blockade quickly caused significant traffic congestion, creating long queues of vehicles stretching across both sides of the artery and spilling over into adjacent streets.
Tejgaon Industrial Area Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mahbubur Rahman confirmed that approximately 100 to 150 workers are participating in the protest. He noted that law enforcement officials are currently on-site working to manage the situation and are engaged in negotiations with the workers to restore order and reopen the road.
