The student wing of the university has written on the walls of Rajshahi University (Rabi) demanding the ban on ‘secret politics’ of student camps. Today, Wednesday, around 12:30 noon, their program started with wall writing on the wall adjacent to the Central Library. At this time, the leaders-activists wrote on the walls with red and black paint, “I want to ban secret politics”.

In the wall writing program, the president of the branch Chhatra Dal, Sultan Ahmed (Rahi) said, “The Razakar forces of the 1970s are claiming themselves as an Islamic organization after July.” They are creating unstable situation in universities through secret politics. Today, through wall writing, I am calling them to come out of secret politics and do politics openly in a fair manner.

Sultan Ahmed warned not to give the students an opportunity to do any kind of secret politics in this university and said, “If the students are doing secret politics in this university, we will prevent it organizationally and legally.”

Sardar Zahurul Islam, the general secretary of the organization, said in the program, “Today we are writing on the wall with red ink to demand the prohibition of secret politics of Jamaat-Shibir.” We will not allow any kind of secret politics to happen in post-coup Bangladesh. If they do not desist from secret politics, I will call for special measures from the government. We want them to do pro-Bangladesh politics in a fair manner.

Mahmudul Mithu, organizing secretary of branch Chhatra Dal, said that Chhatra Dal, which believes in the ideals of multi-party democracy, respects all opinions. But recently some individuals are emerging on the campus with a different political stance in secret. It is unethical to be associated with more than one organization at the same time. Politics is everyone’s right, but it should be transparent and honest.

The Chhatra Dal said that wall writing program will be done in four or five places today. Their programs will be conducted in different places of the campus in phases.

Clashes broke out between Chhatra Dal and Chhatra Shibir leaders over writing ‘Gupta’ and erasing the word ‘Student’ in graffiti at the Government City College of Chittagong on Tuesday. The clash took place in two phases from 10 am to 4 pm. Both sides claimed that at least 20 leaders and activists were injured.
