‘Argentina’ beat Bangladesh in tiebreaker in Indomitable Women’s Football Tournament

The frenzy of the football World Cup, which is going to be a thousand miles away, has spread all over Bangladesh. Which also touched the village of Kalsindur, famous for girls’ football skills and achievements. The ‘Indomitable Women’s Football Tournament 2026’ took place with the participation of the players of the local football academy of this village.
The tournament was organized by BRAC on Saturday in Kalsindur of Dhobaura upazila of Mymensingh, a village at the foot of the Garo Hills bordering India. This local academy has gifted women’s football with many talented players who have represented the country in the international arena. BRAC has been associated with this academy since 2025 to advance women’s football. By supporting the footballers in playing equipment and training, the link between playing in age-based and international teams is thus created, developing the potential.
Players like Sanjida Akhter, Maria Manda, Tahura Khatun, Shamsunnahar senior, Shamsunnahar junior and Shiuli Azim who played in the national team have emerged from Kalsindur. The much awaited Bangladesh vs India final match of SAFF Championship was held yesterday. The girls of Kalsindur were also in this fight, so the atmosphere was lively throughout the village that day.
In the indomitable women’s football tournament organized ahead of the World Cup football, the footballers of Kalsindur were divided into four groups: Argentina, Brazil, Germany and Bangladesh. Argentina beat Bangladesh in a tiebreaker in the final. Hasina, the striker in the red-green jersey, Pinky, the midfielder, has faded to the blue-white jersey mate, Jim, Ritika’s playing skills across the field. The crowd on the field and their enthusiasm was a sight to behold.
