Accused in rape case, Gopalpur Upazila Youth Dal leader expelled

Dulal Hossain (Ravan), joint convener of Gopalpur Upazila Nationalist Jubo Dal of Tangail, has been expelled from the organization. He has been accused of raping a young woman. In this incident, the victim girl has filed a case against three people including Dulal Hossain.
This expulsion was announced in a press release signed by Minhajul Islam Bhuiyan, Deputy Secretary of the Central Executive Committee of Juba Dal today.
According to the press release, Dulal Hossain has been expelled from the party along with primary membership due to violation of party discipline and various crimes against the party’s principles, ideals and solidarity. Juba Dal Central Executive Committee President Abdul Monayem Sarkar (Munna) and General Secretary Mohammad Nurul Islam have already implemented this decision of expulsion.
Talking to the details of the case and the rape victim (22), it is known that she was raped twice on February 1 and April 1. On the first day, Dulal’s associate Upazila Chhatra Dal suspended committee president Roman Ahmed recorded the video of the rape scene on his cell phone. Then on April 3, the young woman went to the Gopalpur police station to file a case, but the police did not take the case then, she alleged.
Later, on April 13, the young woman herself filed a case in the Tangail Women and Children Suppression Tribunal. Court judge ANM Elias directed the OC of Gopalpur police station to record the complaint as a statement. Later, Gopalpur police station registered the case on April 15.
The young woman alleged that the accused are threatening her in various ways as they are politically influential. So he has left the area and is hiding due to insecurity.
