Academic Experts Emphasize Ethical Integration of AI in University Research

Artificial intelligence is profoundly reshaping the landscape of modern education and research, necessitating a rigorous focus on both its transformative potential and its ethical implementation. Experts underscored these critical developments during a seminar titled “Artificial Intelligence in Academic Research: Emerging Trends, Methodologies, and Practical Applications,” held Monday at Bangladesh University.
The event, hosted by the university’s Department of Business Administration, convened academic leaders to address how AI is transitioning from a theoretical concept to an essential tool in contemporary scholarly work. Keynote speaker Mansura Nusrat, an assistant professor of management at St. Bonaventure University in the United States, detailed the evolution of AI-driven research designs and data analysis. Her presentation highlighted how modern AI tools can significantly elevate research standards while warning that researchers must navigate strict ethical boundaries and acknowledge the inherent limitations of automated systems.
University Vice-Chancellor Md. Jahangir Alam, serving as the chief guest, emphasized that AI is no longer a futuristic vision but an immediate force driving rapid transformation across all levels of academia. He noted that integrating these technologies is essential for staying relevant in an increasingly digital research environment.
The seminar also featured insights from the university’s registrar, Md. Mahabubul Haque, and the Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics, Md. Tajul Islam. Presiding over the session, head of the Department of Business Administration Gazi Md. Abu Isa Noor remarked that the initiative was designed to bridge the gap between traditional methodologies and the technological advancements currently defining modern business education. The event drew a wide audience of faculty members, researchers, and students, all seeking to better understand the responsible deployment of AI in their respective fields of study.
