Born in Bangladesh and now carving out a multifaceted career in the United States, Masuma Jahan Rima has successfully bridged healthcare, literature, the arts, and entrepreneurship across her dynamic professional journey. Hailing originally from Sandwip in Chattogram, Rima has transitioned from a political science graduate in her home country into a prominent dental hygienist, published author, editor, and the proprietor of thriving business ventures situated inside major American shopping malls in Florida.
Reflecting on her diverse pursuits, Rima encapsulates her life's philosophy by describing herself as a dental hygienist by profession, a writer at heart, an artist by emotion, and an entrepreneur by choice. Rather than allowing her various roles to compete, she has seamlessly embraced different identities at different stages of her life. During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, she stepped onto the frontline as a healthcare worker, venturing into remote areas to treat infected patients while the world remained locked down. Her dedication during the global health crisis earned her a Certificate of Appreciation from the United States-based nonprofit organization Remote Area Medical (RAM).

She is currently penning her third book, Anandabari’r Abbhru. Alongside her creative writing, she has served for more than ten years in editorial and management roles for Ekushe Tara, an Orlando-based Bengali magazine in the United States, and currently works as an associate editor for Bangla Times 360.
Rima's entrepreneurial journey began after she migrated to the United States and underwent a complete career pivot, completing six to seven years of rigorous study in health sciences and dental hygiene before working in an emergency dental clinic. Blending her artistic vision with business acumen, she launched her enterprise, Jahan's Artistic World, approximately five years ago via a kiosk inside The Florida Mall, one of the state's largest and busiest shopping centers. Despite initial anxieties regarding high mall rents and market uncertainty, she left a job as an artist at Universal Studios and turned down an offer from Disney World to fully dedicate herself to her own platform.
end Orlando Vineland Premium Outlets, alongside a laundromat business located at the Orlando International Airport (MCO). Rima takes particular pride in introducing traditional Bangladeshi mehndi art to American shopping malls, sharing this cultural celebration with people from diverse global backgrounds. Her artistic repertoire also extends to oil painting, watercolor, one-line art, and mixed media. Recently featured in the Hidden Gem series of Orlando Voyager magazine, Rima attributes her ongoing success and resilience to the unwavering support of her family, whom she fondly refers to as her powerhouse.
