Shakib Khan and Idika Paul tipped for reunion in upcoming film Nissho

Bangladeshi superstar Shakib Khan and Kolkata-based actress Idhika Paul are reportedly being considered for a third on-screen collaboration following the massive success of their previous ventures. The duo first gained significant commercial traction in 2023 with Himel Ashraf’s “Priyotoma,” which became a cultural phenomenon upon its release.
Building on that momentum, the pair reunited for Mehadi Hasan Hridoy’s “Borbaad,” a film that reportedly shattered box office records within the Bangladeshi film industry. The project’s success has solidified the on-screen chemistry between Khan and Paul, sparking intense speculation regarding their potential return in Hridoy’s upcoming production, titled “Nissho.”
While director Mehadi Hasan Hridoy has officially confirmed that Shakib Khan will headline “Nissho,” he noted that the lead actress has yet to be finalized. Hridoy clarified that while no formal agreements have been signed, Idhika Paul remains a primary candidate for the role. The production team expects to reach a definitive decision regarding the cast within the coming week.
The screenplay for “Nissho” is currently in its final stages of development. The film is slated to feature Shakib Khan in an action-oriented role, though the director promises a fresh narrative approach and aesthetic presentation compared to the actor’s previous work.
If the current production timeline holds, filming is scheduled to commence this October. The producers are aiming for a theatrical release during the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr holiday next year.
