Telugu superstar Ram Charan’s latest cinematic venture, “Peddi,” has achieved significant commercial success, grossing over 400 crore rupees worldwide since its global release on June 4. The film, directed by Buchi Babu Sana, has resonated deeply with audiences, cementing its position as a major hit in the current film landscape.

During a recent promotional event in Mumbai, Ram Charan offered insights into the film’s narrative, describing it as an intimate exploration of identity. The actor explained that “Peddi” follows a protagonist on a poignant quest for self-discovery, suggesting that the search for meaning is a universal experience that anchors the film’s emotional core.

The actor credited the growing trend of sports dramas in Indian cinema to the pioneering efforts of Bollywood icons Salman Khan and Aamir Khan. Ram Charan noted that high-profile films like “Sultan” and “Dangal” paved the way for sports-centric storytelling, providing the confidence necessary for regional filmmakers to pursue similar ambitious projects.

Reflecting on the production process, Ram Charan expressed profound admiration for his co-star, Janhvi Kapoor, whose disciplined work ethic left a lasting impression. Having shot for over 85 days, the actor admitted he was struck by Kapoor’s quiet dedication and ability to master complex sequences with minimal preparation time, labeling her one of the most hardworking individuals he has encountered in his career. The project also carried personal significance for the actor, as he drew parallels between his partnership with Kapoor and the historic collaborative history between his father and the late actress Sridevi.

Director Buchi Babu Sana’s commitment was equally lauded, with Ram Charan recalling a marathon two-hour-and-forty-minute script narration that convinced him of the project’s demanding nature and narrative power. For her part, Kapoor described the two-year production journey as a transformative experience, highlighting her close working relationship with Sana.
