Government Promotes Five Senior Officers to Additional Inspector General of Police

The Bangladesh government has promoted five senior police officers to the rank of Additional Inspector General of Police (Additional IGP), elevating them to Grade-2 status under the National Pay Scale of 2015. The Ministry of Home Affairs officially confirmed the promotions through a notification issued by its Police-1 branch on Sunday.

The newly promoted officers include Md. Sayedur Rahman, director of the Central Police Hospital in Rajarbagh; Md. Mainul Hassan, who was serving in the capacity of Additional IGP for the Tourist Police; and Md. Israil Hawlader, Commissioner of the Gazipur Metropolitan Police. The list also includes Md. Iqbal Hossain, a Deputy Inspector General (DIG) with the Special Branch of police, and Md. Kamrul Ahsan, a DIG at Police Headquarters.

According to the official notification, the promoted officers are required to submit their letters of joining to the Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs through the appropriate authorities. The appointments will take effect from the date the officers assume their new responsibilities.
