Chhatra Dal gave the administration more time to restore the two halls of Jagannath University

After the 10-day ultimatum for the rescue of Jagannath University’s Abdur Rahman Hall and Shahid Nazrul Islam Hall, the university branch student group gave another five days to the university administration to find the necessary documents by holding a press conference.
This press conference was held in front of Bhashashaheed Rafiq Bhawan of the university on Sunday afternoon. Earlier, on March 31, the student body of the ruling party gave 10 days time to the administration to carry out the hall rescue program on the initiative of Chhatra Dal.
Mehdi Hasan Himel, Convener of the University Branch Chhatra Dal, said in the press conference, “It is the right of the students to stand up.” Even after August 5, there was no progress in rescuing the hall. The new administration has come, we have sought their help in saving the hall. Apart from this, the member of Parliament of Dhaka-7 Constituency and the Vice-Chancellor of Jagannath University were spoken to. The administration has asked for time to find the required documents of the hall, we have asked to inform within five days. A deadline will be set for the rescue of the halls soon.’
Jagannath University was founded by Begum Khaleda Zia. For this, the former leaders of the campus have worked in the interest of the university. We will also work for the overall development of the campus,” said the Chhatra Dal leader.
Suman Sardar, joint convenor of Chhatra Dal’s university wing, said, ‘Jagannath University is a place of our passion. Various student organizations have protested about the hall, but now they have backed down. But there is a place for our accountability and responsibility. From there we will rescue the halls with all the stakeholders very soon.’
In the press conference, Jagannath University Branch Student Dal member secretary Shamsul Arefin, senior joint convener Zafar Ahmed, joint convener Suman Sardar, Md. Shahriar Hossain, Mahmudul Hasan Mahmud, Rabiul Awal, Nahian bin Anik, Yakub Sheikh Anik, Mia Russel, Shakhawat Hossain Parag and more than half a hundred leaders and activists were present.
