On the occasion of Fakir Lalan Sai's 136th Tirodhan Day, Lalan commemoration will be held across the country including Kushtia-Dhaka. The Ministry of Culture has initiated various programs to pay tribute to his music, philosophy and sense of humanity.
Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy said in a press release that a three-day long special program has been organized in Kushtia from October 17 to 19 to commemorate the day.
In addition to wrestling, Dhaka also has various events. On October 17 at 6 pm, the 'Lalon Memorial' will be held at the National Theater Auditorium of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. Secretary of the Ministry of Culture Yasmin Begum will be present as the chief guest. Artist and researcher Professor Ahmed Shakeel Hasmi will be the main speaker in the event.
Joint Secretary and Shilpakala Academy Director General (Additional Charge) Harun-Or-Rashid will preside over the event. At the end of the discussion session, the cultural program will be performed by the country's tradition cherishers, Shilpakala Academy musicians and artists of the Nationalist Social Cultural Organization (Jasas).
