Professor Zainul Abedin Siddiqui of Chittagong University Chemistry Department has been appointed as the new Vice Chancellor of Rangamati University of Science and Technology. He is currently serving as the Treasurer of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam University.

This information was informed in a notification issued by the science and technology university branch of the secondary and higher education department of the Ministry of Education on Thursday.

According to the notification, Zainul Abedin Siddiqui has been appointed to this post as per Section 10(1) of the Rangamati University of Science and Technology Act, 2001 with the approval of His Excellency the President and Chancellor.

As per the terms of appointment, he will hold the post of Vice-Chancellor for a period of four years from the date of joining or the date of retirement – ​​whichever is earlier. He will get salary equivalent to the present post and other benefits pertaining to the post as per rules.
