Bidisha sentenced to two years in fraud case
A Dhaka court has sentenced Bidisha Siddique, former wife of late president H M Ershad, to two years imprisonment for fraud. The verdict was delivered Wednesday afternoon by Metropolitan Magistrate Md. Jamshed Alam at Gulshan Police Station.
In addition to the prison term, Siddique has been fined 10,000 Bangladeshi Taka. Failure to pay the fine will result in an additional one month of simple imprisonment. The information was confirmed by Hemayet Uddin Khan, the lawyer for the plaintiff.
