Titas Gas to Suspend Supply in Parts of Dhaka for Pipeline Upgrades Tuesday
Residents across several areas of Dhaka face an eight-hour suspension of gas services on Tuesday as Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution PLC initiates emergency pipeline replacement work. The utility provider confirmed the scheduled outage in a press statement released on Monday, citing the need to address critical infrastructure issues.
The maintenance operations will target the Free School Street, Bhuter Gali, Kitchen Road, Al-Amin Road, and Kathalbagan neighborhoods, where all residential and commercial connections will remain inactive. These measures are part of a broader effort to modernize aging infrastructure and mitigate safety risks within the city's distribution network.
In a separate phase of the infrastructure upgrade, Titas Gas also announced that service will be suspended from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on July 21. This specific work involves replacing leaking distribution and service lines in the Free School Street, Hatirpool, Pukurpar, and Dhanmondi areas.
During these periods of maintenance, nearby locations may experience low gas pressure. Titas Gas officials have expressed regret for the temporary inconvenience caused to consumers, emphasizing that these improvements are essential for the long-term reliability and safety of the supply system.
