Former judge Shamsuddin Chowdhury has been denied bail in two ACC cases
The court has rejected the bail application of former judge AHM Shamsuddin Chowdhury Manik in the case of embezzlement of plot in Purbachal of the capital through acquisition of wealth outside known income and abuse of power.

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) prosecutor Mohammad Tariqul Islam confirmed this information to Prothom Alo.
Tariqul Islam said, "The lawyers of the accused have heard the bail of Shamsuddin Chowdhury Manik in two separate cases. On behalf of the ACC, we oppose it. After the hearing, the court rejected the bail application of the accused.
ACC Deputy Director Abdullah Al Mamun filed these two cases as the plaintiff.
According to the statement of a case, AHM Shamsuddin Chowdhury Manik became the owner of 5 crore 39 lakh 66 thousand 820 rupees beyond the known income by abusing the power of the judge. Because of this, the ACC filed a case against him.
ACC filed another case against Shamsuddin Chowdhury Manik for allegedly embezzling a plot in Rajuk's Purbachal New Town project through fraud while he was a judge.
In this ACC case, apart from Shamsuddin Chowdhury Manik, Kashmiri Kamal, wife of former Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal, former chairman of RAJUK Nurul Huda, member (Finance) Abu Bakkar Sikdar, member (Development) M Mahbubul Alam, member Abdul Hai, former chairman GM Zainal Abedin Bhuiya have been made accused.
