Two Dead in Separate Road Accidents in Feni

Two separate road accidents in Feni have claimed the lives of two men, highlighting ongoing concerns regarding traffic safety in the region. The fatalities occurred in incidents involving a truck and a bus between Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning.

The first victim, 23-year-old Iqbal Hossain, was killed Thursday morning when his motorcycle was struck by a truck near the Chowdhurypara intersection in Chhagalnaiya upazila. Hossain, a resident of Sonagazi upazila, was traveling from Chittagong toward Feni city at the time of the collision. Another individual riding with him, 23-year-old Jihanul Islam, sustained injuries and is currently receiving treatment at Feni General Hospital.

In a separate incident on Wednesday, 32-year-old Mohammad Jewel Matabbar was struck by a bus while attempting to cross the Dhaka-Chittagong highway in the Chhawa area of Feni Sadar upazila. Matabbar, a tile worker, was initially transported to Feni General Hospital in critical condition. His health deteriorated rapidly, and he succumbed to his injuries while being transferred to Chittagong Medical College Hospital on Wednesday night.

Sub-Inspector Md. Shahidul Islam of the Fazilpur Highway Police Station confirmed that Iqbal Hossain’s body has been sent to Feni General Hospital for an autopsy. Authorities are currently investigating both incidents, with official legal proceedings expected to follow as police gather further details regarding the circumstances of the fatal collisions.
