The university administration has expelled the student who slapped the sports editor of Jaksur
The Jagannath University (JUB) 8th Indoor Games carrom tournament has temporarily expelled the student Sadia Sultana Nelli, who is accused of slapping the Sports Secretary of Jaksur.
The university administration announced this decision in a press conference on Sunday.

University Vice-Chancellor said at the press conference. Raich Uddin said, the unexpected incident that took place at the end of the prize distribution ceremony of indoor games is embarrassing. A three-member high-level inquiry committee headed by the convener of the Central Sports Committee has been immediately constituted to prevent the recurrence of such incidents.
The Vice-Chancellor also said that it has been confirmed through multiple witnesses that one student raised his hand on another student. Such unwelcome and inappropriate behavior is against the university culture. Such activities will not be tolerated in any way. A decision has been taken to temporarily expel the concerned student from the university.

Meanwhile, the convener of the sports sub-committee has been relieved of his duties due to negligence in conducting the indoor games. At the same time, the administration has decided to issue a show-cause notice to the member secretary. The Vice-Chancellor also said that necessary action will be taken after investigating whether anyone else is involved in the incident.
The incident took place after the prize distribution ceremony of the university’s ‘8th Indoor Games Competition 2026’ last Wednesday afternoon.
Some eyewitness students said that there were allegations of violation of rules during the final game of carrom. There was an argument between the player Sadia and Jaksur sports editor Georges Anwar. At one stage they threatened each other. Later, at the end of the award ceremony, Sadia slapped Georges.
After this incident, Sadia gave a warning post to the sports editor on her Facebook ID. There he wrote, ‘Mr Georges Anwar Naim (Sports Editor, Jaksu), henceforth will get more slaps for nepotism in sports. Now I have given only one. I have all the evidence of your nepotism. But already the girls of your student organization are writing that I am raising hands on you by showing the power of sir. Where the injustice is yours, unfairly going outside the rules (rules) and trying to champion two teams together, there is no need for anyone. He performed his duties properly as sports editor. Don’t even try to champion someone illegally.’
