The teacher’s teammates-students decorated the classroom to bid him farewell. Later, he was conveyed to his home in a horse-drawn cart about five kilometers away in a royal arrangement.

Ranu Gopal Roy, a teacher of Kadamhata High School in Rajnagar Upazila of Moulvibazar District, retired on April 2 at the end of the working day. He joined that high school as an assistant teacher. He retired as assistant head teacher after 31 years and two months of service. To make his retirement colorful and lively, the students of the SSC 2022 batch of the school organized this royal farewell today on Wednesday afternoon. Behind the horse-drawn carriage were more than a hundred students on motorcycles and other vehicles.

Teacher Ranu Gopal Roy told Prothom Alo, ‘The organization they (students) have organized today is unprecedented. The emotional environment that has been created, I don’t think I would have got this respect, this love if I had not been in teaching or in any other profession. The biggest joy for me today is that I have retired today from the same organization I joined.’

According to Kadamhata High School, organizing students and local sources, Ranu Gopal Roy joined Kadamhata High School as an assistant teacher on January 22, 1995. A long time has passed since then. Joined as assistant teacher. Assistant Headmaster has been promoted. This teacher retired from teaching on April 2 as an assistant head teacher. On that day he was bid farewell by the school. But many people were dissatisfied with the silent departure of this long-time teacher of the school. In this context, the SSC students of the 2022 batch of the school came forward. They organized a grand farewell reception this afternoon. As current students of the school participate in this event, many former students also join the campus. Many parents gathered. At the moment of the teacher’s arrival, the band is played and flowers are welcomed.

The discussants discuss the various aspects of the teacher’s love, affection and teaching towards the students during his career. SSC 2022 batch student Imran Talukder said, ‘Sir was very good. He has taught this school for 31 years, many of his students in the area. Today (Wednesday) many people came to say goodbye to him.

The organizers said that after the discussion, various gifts were given to the departing teacher along with a memento. Then a different journey begins. Already a lot of ‘ready-to-door cars; At noon, a horse-drawn carriage decorated with colorful balloons was standing. At the moment of farewell, the students once again garlanded their beloved teacher. Ranu Gopal Roy got into the prepared horse cart waving to the students standing on both sides of the road in the school premises. The horse-cart started running towards Moulvibazar town along the paved road. Hundreds of students followed by motorcycles and other vehicles. The horse cart stopped at Girzapara area of ​​Moulvibazar city. The teacher’s house was crowded with students. This is another happy moment.

Ranu Gopal Roy said, she is childless. But he has no regrets about it. The feeling of not having children no longer works. These students are like his children. His wife teaches in a private school. He said, “I feel very good. Hundreds of students have visited me at home. What could be a bigger find than this.’
