Study Abroad Fair: Quiz winners get prizes

Under the slogan ‘Dream of higher education, around the world…’ organized by Prothom Alo.com, a ten-day ‘Study Abroad Fair’ was held from October 24 to November 2, 2025. In this event, prizes were handed over to the winners of the quiz competition.

Prizes were handed over to the winners in a ceremony at Prothom Alo office in Karwan Bazar today. Ten of the 11 lucky winners received the ‘Smart Watch’. Umm Atiya of Dhaka received Smart Watch, Air Buds and Bluetooth Speaker as mega winner.

Md Chapainawabganj was awarded as the winner of the day. Mashir Hossain, Abdul Jabbar Bappi of Lakshipur, Kausali Chakma of Khagrachari, Md. of Chittagong. Kofil Uddin Mahmud, Jobeda Akhtar, Moniruzzaman Prabhat, Roushan Ara Begum, Mosleh Uddin of Noakhali, Mir Farhan Islam of Feni and Nazmun Nahar.

UCSI University Bangladesh Branch Campus was the powered buy in British Council dedicated Study Abroad Fair and Prime Bank Plc was the banking partner. The strategic partner was Foreign Admission and Career Development Consultants Association of Bangladesh (FAD-CAB).

Prothom Alo managing editor and fiction writer Anisul Haque, Shehrin Shibli, Head of Business Development, British Council and Saiful Islam, Deputy Director, Corporate Affairs Department, UCSI University Bangladesh Branch Campus gave away the prizes to the winners.

Anisul Haque said in the event, “Educated people can change the world.” Many go abroad for higher education and build a career there, while many return home and use their skills. Regardless of location, both are engaged in the service of humanity. So staying abroad or returning home – both are acceptable. Congratulating the winners, he added, “Winners are our strength.” Their presence gives us the courage and inspiration to take new initiatives.

Shehrin Shibley said, ‘The British Council is generally comfortable with engaging in educational initiatives for young people. The Study Abroad Fair was one such successful event, from which we received a great response. Congratulations to the winners. Advice to you, always learn something new and make the most of your time; Because there is no alternative to learning.’

Saiful Islam said, “Congratulations on behalf of our university to the winners. UCSI University of Malaysia is operating their branch campus in Bangladesh on the basis of “Cross Border Higher Education”. UCSI is always ranked between 1 and 300 in the QS World Subject Ranking. We want to be with Prothom Alo in this kind of educational organization in the future as well.

Bivardhan Roy Emon, Deputy Manager of Prothom Alo’s Digital Business Division gave an overview of the fair. Prothom Alo Senior Content Manager Khairul Babui moderated the program.

British Council Business Development Officer Nazmus Saqib Ahmed and Prothom Alo Prothom Alo Chief Digital Business Officer ABM Javed Sultan, Assistant General Manager Ruhul Amin Roni, Digital Marketing Lead Mehbub Javed, Assistant Manager Zahid Hasan, Senior Executive Bipasha Bala Shanta and others were also present.

Quiz winner Kaushali Chakma said, ‘Though I am busy with my studies as well as my job, I participate in various competitions in my spare time. But I did not think that I will win this quiz. I was very happy when I got the good news over the phone. Thank you all for such a beautiful event.

The ten-day Study Abroad Fair featured information, offers, features, video content and daily quizzes from 20 educational institutions. Through this, students from HSC to Master’s and PhD level also got an opportunity to know important information related to course selection, admission process, visa processing and scholarship.

For the first time, there were 1 lakh 2 thousand 386 visitors on the website of Study Abroad Fair (studyabroadfair.pro). And more than 1000 contestants participated in the quiz 2500 times. In addition to online, a two-day offline event was held at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center in Dhaka on October 24 and 25. More than 10,000 visitors attended.
